Guardian of the Ice

2026 NIPA 2026

Guardian of the Ice

Thomas WederSwitzerland

HONORABLE MENTION

Nature / Wildlife

Entry type: Single

A white Arctic fox stands proudly on a raised pedestal of ice, using the vantage point to survey its surroundings. As far as the eye can see, there is nothing but snow, ice, and endless Arctic wilderness, swept by relentless winds and bitter cold. Yet the fox remains motionless, patiently enduring the freezing conditions. Small against the vast landscape, it embodies resilience, patience, and the will to survive.
