the fight for dominance

Thomas WederSwitzerland

JURY CHOICE

Nature / Wildlife

Entry type: Single

Two young blue morph Arctic foxes engage in a fierce but playful struggle for dominance in the March landscape of Svalbard. Their dark, smoky-blue winter coats contrast against the pale Arctic snow as they circle, chase, and wrestle with each other. Nearby, a female watches the display attentively, observing their strength and behavior. The encounter reveals the complex social dynamics and instincts of these remarkable Arctic survivors.
