2026 NIPA 2026

between two worlds

Zineddine BenidirAlgeria

HONORABLE MENTION

Travel

Entry type: Single

Deep in the historic Ghoufi canyon near Batna, Algeria, an Auresian elder lives in a traditional stone dwelling with no electricity. Every morning, as the sun rises over the White River valley, a single beam of light pierces the shadows, illuminating his daily ritual of reading the Holy Quran. This moment captures a life suspended gracefully between two worlds
