Listen While I’m Still Here

Description

Hoor Al-Azim is a transboundary wetland shared by Iran and Iraq, and a remaining part of the ancient Mesopotamian wetland system. Water recedes, reeds burn, and industrial structures rise within this fragile ecosystem. As the wetland changes, so do the lives of local communities, threatening traditional livelihoods and pushing people away from their home. This series portrays a living place struggling to endure: listen while I’m still here.
