Description
Patachitra (traditional narrative scroll painting) is a living Bengali storytelling tradition where painting and song are inseparable. In Naya, West Bengal, India, generations of Chitrakars have carried it forward while adapting to changing times. Recognised with a Geographical Indication (GI) tag in 2018, the tradition now faces a new question- as children inherit it alongside education, technology and new creative possibilities, what will they choose to preserve, transform or leave behind?
