We reached Little Kinmen's Hujingtou War Museum, finding it closed. Resting on the roadside, I saw three other travelers arrive at the gate and meet the same fate. As they turned around with helpless smiles, I, laughing inside, waited down the slope, camera ready. As they walked back to their car—one after another, in quiet resignation—I pressed the shutter. The jangling car keys and smartphone in the frame recorded this detour. We missed the museum, but this U-turn became my favorite capture.
