Description
This series was created in collaboration with contemporary dance choreographer José Navas over three photographic sessions. In each session, I bound Navas in a different material, with each restraint representing my personal experiences with a lack of autonomy and creative voice within my commercial photography career. I photographed him as he negotiated his escape from each constraint, exploring themes of restriction, resistance, and liberation.
