"Anatomies" was created for the contemporary dance work of the same name by renowned choreographer Jose Navas. Rather than documenting the performance itself, the photograph presents the choreographer positioned between the bodies of two dancers, who are arranged as though awaiting examination in an anatomy class. The image transforms a fleeting moment of choreography into a carefully composed study of the human body.
