Description
Where the Umbrella Waits follows a neglected garden umbrella as it shifts from object to presence. Drawing on Japanese myths of spirit-inhabited things, the series imagines abandonment as a force of activation. Through inversion, condensation and theatrical framing, the umbrella seems to wake, haunt and gather authority, until the final image transforms it into a charged, godlike apparition.
