Description
According to a local tradition near Salerno (Italy), a painting of the Madonna del Carmelo was lost during a storm after her request to repair her church was ignored. Years later, chickens uncovered the painting near Pagani, leading to devotion to the Madonna delle Galline. Every year, the town celebrates her with a three-day festival featuring a long procession, decorated devotional spaces (toselli), traditional music, dances, and local foods, bringing together faith, culture, and community.
